Magic Mozart NFT (0.3 ETH)

Magic Mozart Live Minting 9/30/22

When you think of NFTs do you immediately think of Bored Apes or CryptoPunks? Most collectors view these projects as earliest examples of the NFT/generative art, but did you know that Mozart is attributed with inventing randomized art? Ein Musikalisches Würfelspiel, or "A Musical Dice Game" was popular in the 18th century because it allowed one to "compose" music with the roll of a dice!

Magic Mozart

Magic Mozart, Living Opera's first large-scale art collection, draws inspiration from his final opera The Magic Flute. Our NFT collection contains the portrait of Mozart with five unique artistic layers – each with features inspired by the Magic Flute. Our layers consist of:

  • Mozart’s clothing
  • Mozart’s hair
  • Background
  • Mozart’s cravat
  • Props from the opera

Each person who decides to purchase an NFT will receive a bonus musical composition from "A Musical Dice Game" with their NFT. The 28-second musical composition is created on-chain and will be completely unique! Each NFT starts at 0.3 ETH.

About NFTs

1) What is an NFT

A non-fungible token (NFT) is a type of digital asset. Unlike fungible tokens, such as Bitcoin or Ethereum, each NFT is unique and varies in some way. Popular examples include art and music NFTs, but they can also reflect contractual agreements over other physical assets, such as land or property.

2) Why are NFTs valuable

Every asset has a value and a price. The value is driven by fundamentals — or features of the asset that are broadly reflected as having real world utility and status — and the price can deviate from the value upwards or downwards based on expectations and beliefs in the market. In this sense, the value of the NFT depends on the underlying asset. But, broadly speaking, their value is rooted in the ability to tokenize ideas at the atomistic level, meaning that they create rivalry (i.e., if I have the NFT, you do not!) and exclusivity (i.e., by pricing the NFT, I can gate access to it).

3) How do you make money with NFTs

People can make money through NFTs in at least two ways. First, you can produce your own NFTs and sell them. You can either work with big marketplaces where anyone can upload an NFT (e.g., OpenSea), or smaller and more curated marketplaces (e.g., MakersPlace). Second, you can buy NFTs that you enjoy and believe in, hold them, and then sell when you think there's a trade worth making. In fact, our COO has been writing and presenting about how NFTs have the potential to democratize investing — as a creator, you can produce assets more easily and receive dividends on future trades, and as a buyer, you can identify assets you believe will appreciate in value and cash in.

4) What is the future of NFTs

The future of NFTs consists of limitless possibilities! No one can write the script now, but what's clear is that they will expand beyond art and music. We are excited about how NFTs have the potential to create markets where none have previously existed, thereby allowing buyers and sellers to find each other more easily and obtain value. Moreover, we believe NFTs will allow consumers to interact with brands in new and more experiential ways; gone are the days when the best a brand can do is offer a seasonal discount!
