Our favorite breathing exercises explained

Now keeping in mind we are NOT voice teachers, we have done our best to break down principles about how we construct our breath, which is basically the same for every singer. There are some minute differences between how men and women "feel" the breath on the inhale, but for our purposes, we're treating everyone the same.

We have benefitted from years of instruction from quality teachers, including our current teacher, Sherman Lowe. Finding the right voice teacher is one of the crucial keys for the longevity of any singer, though we've found it is rare to have the same teacher for your whole career.

We hope this new series inspires and helps you reach your goals in singing. This is a life-long journey and cannot be rushed!
