3 breathing exercises I do every day
Kerstin Hammerschmid

I am planning to create more technique videos for you coming soon! I am thinking about showing you guys my full warm up routine. I was actually doing my physical warm up the other day but then I couldn't bring myself to film it. I don't know, maybe I will soon.

I think a lot of singers get stuck in their technique because they haven't been properly taught about resistance. Breath resistance is one of the foundations for our technique because it helps us use the breath energy properly! Without that resistance it makes it more difficult for us to "support" the voice. Sometimes(I have done it myself) it can produce a sound that is underenergized.

When I'm teaching people (especially fellow tenors!), I am really aware of this. Many of the different negative tensions we deal with as singers can be avoided when we understand how to use our breath.

Anyway, this is a short video and I hope it helps someone! I wish you all a great weekend and we will see you soon!
